Hello, fellow writers!

Only eight more months until NaNoWriMo (http://www NULL.nanowrimo NULL.org) 2010, have you thought about what you are going to write about this year? Last year I attemptedtowrite a science fiction novel with a theological twist. I was going at it pretty steady until around the 29,000 (http://www NULL.biblegateway NULL.com/passage/?search=he+29%2C000&version=46) word mark and the flow of ideas just began to dry up. I paniced! I quit sleeping. I could hardly eat. I would have quit bathing, but my wife would have none of that. I finished the monthoff with just over 38,000 words for my efforts; not bad for my first go at the whole thing.

What started off as a good idea turned into an untamable monster. My main character totally clammed up on me and the supporting cast decided to take a vacation in the Bahamahs. And to make matters worse, my plot not only broke, it shattered.

So ther I was left with my crampped fingers refusing to budge a fraction of an inch to salvage this lump of dead pulp that was going to be my first novel. So, I saved my work to a CD-ROM and filed it int he back of my bottom desk drawer with the inscription: Here lies a failed work of sweat, tears, and numb fingers. DO NOT READ TIL DOOM’S DAY!

That was 1 December 2009, it is now 10 March 2010 and I a already thinking about how I can assure my success for my second go at the NaNoWriMo Beast. So, I am jotting ideas down in my “Brain Dump” notebook. I have written down about five ideas. So far, these are just grinning at me dumbly from the page with out any indication that they are going to talk to me. I’ll spend the next frew months dumping my ideas into the soon to be tattered and coffee stained pages, one of them is bound to beging speaking sooner or later.
