For a long time, whenever you went to A Novel Idea Bookstore in Lincoln, NE, you would be greeted by the resident cat, Silas. The story goes that he just walked into the back of the store one day in 1995 and claimed the store as his own. He was on of the downtown area’s most beloved icons and drew many visitors to the store.
On February 16, Silas passed over the Rainbow Bridge after suffering from the effects of his advanced years.
Silas, you will be missed by all who loved you. Thank you for being there for us to enjoy.
(Sorry if this sounds a bit jerky, but I have had a hard time composing this in the first place.)
(I hope that Michael Cornelius won’t mind me using his photo.)
